Helping youth that are aging out of foster care.

Don't just take our word for it, hear from residents first-hand:

  • "The Open Door House is an excellent balance between independent growth and group support. It's very easy to feel at home there! It provides a safe environment where I can focus on becoming independent while still having guidance when I need it. There is a balance between responsibility and support, which has helped me grow. It is not always easy, but it teaches discipline, accountability, and how to manage real-life situations. Living here creates a sense of family and connection, where residents can support one another and not feel alone during the transition to independence."

  • "While living there, I didn't expect to be able to freely cook and wander around downtown Concord using the bus system. It made me feel less restricted than when I lived in Foster Care. I did not expect how much I would grow personally. I learned more about myself, especially when it comes to handling challenges, managing my time, and making decisions on my own. I also learned the importance of consistency and responsibility in everyday life. Beyond basic independent living skills, I gained confidence and a better understanding of what I want for my future."

  • "Before committing to the program, it's important to understand the value of relying on support in healthy ways. For Foster care, especially, the world is just starting to open up. It can be overwhelming, so it's important to ask for help. This program requires commitment and effort. It is not just a place to stay, but a place to grow and prepare for independence. You will be expected to follow rules, stay consistent, and take responsibility for your actions. At the same time, there is support available if you are willing to use it. If you come in with an open mind and are ready to put in the work, the program can really help you build a strong foundation for your future."
