Opening Doors, Building Futures
Through our ambitious $6 million, 6-year Opening Doors, Building Futures Campaign, we are expanding our campus to increase our capacity from 4 to 26 young adults.
Our Current Campus
Our current campus allows us to assist four residents at a time through Ezekiel House for (2) Young Men and Grace House for (2) Young Women.
The Growing Need
Every year, 500+ young adults age out of foster care in North Carolina. Approximately 100 become immediately homeless.
And we’re seeing the growing need firsthand. Each month, The Open Door House receives more referrals than we have room to serve.
Giving Hope Room to Grow
Phase 1 of our Campus Expansion: The Duplex. A $1.2 million renovation– $200,000 already raised!

Upper level- 2 apartments: 6 residents, 2 resident supports (think college RA)

Lower level- Education and Enrichment room
This duplex will expand our housing and services bringing our total impact to 10 young adults and 4 resident supports. The Education and Enrichment Room will be the heartbeat of the campus where coaching, Life Skills, and mentoring will take place.
Together, we're creating a community where hope grows, independence is cultivated, and futures are transformed for generations to come.
Building Futures filled with Hope
The Open Door House has remained a debt-free organization, allowing us to approach this expansion with sustainability and faithful stewardship at the forefront.
As we look toward 2027 and beyond, we are building a strong foundation of long-term support for annual operations, residential housing and programs, and continued campus development—ensuring we are prepared to meet the growing need and open doors for more young adults aging out of foster care.
The Opening Doors, Building Futures Campaign is our bold declaration that with God all things are possible, Matthew 19:26. This initiative will sustain today's needs and secure the possibilities for tomorrow. Each year, the majority of our funding supports essential operations and critical capital improvements- adding/improving residential housing, strengthening programs and adding vital services for our young adults. As we look ahead, we understand that in order to meet a growing need for safe, affordable housing and structured programs, we must expand and the time is now.
With debt-free property situated for growth, The Open Door House is optimally positioned for sustainable expansion. Your partnership ensures not only the highest level of care today but also a lasting legacy of hope that will reverse generational cycles of poverty, neglect, and homelessness for generations to come.
